We will know soon who is running for F.O.P. office 2008.

You must attend 5 meetings to be eligible to run for F.O.P. office in the year of elections!
How many of you have attended?
I LOVE THIS JOB!
Where else can you get the satisfaction of chasing down a true criminal who just robbed someone and catch them and lock them up?
Where else are you at, at the right time to save someones life?
Where else can you by your sheer presence deter a crime?
I LOVE THIS JOB!
Being the POLICE means you are involved!
But you my fellow officers have to get up off your collective asses and start to go to the Union Meetings! You have to be involved! I believe we have less than 100 officers active and retired able to run for election due to the requirements.
The F.O.P. doesn't want you at the meetings! They don't want you to participate!
If your eligible to run for office your a threat!
These are the people representing you, The membership.
I have a 100 horror stories of F.O.P. dropping the ball on grievances and other asst issues!
Get involved and make a change!

Petitions for F.O.P. Office due by 1600 hrs 28-Dec-07

Officers the petitions are due by end of business today 28-Dec-07 1600 hrs. Best to hand drop them off and get a copy with a signature from Mary Pat, the secretary at the F.O.P. Desk.
We should know who is running for what spot soon and in the entirety!
We should also see if there is an organized slate of candidates against our incumbent "City Wide team"!
It should be interesting and we will start discussion ASAP on the virtues of our FOP as opposed to new leadership.
My first argument is that I don't think (purely my opinion) that anyone else could do much worse!
Lets start with these:
Does anyone really know what our FOP officers do all day?
Have they been at your roll call in the last 3 years?
Does being a hockey player or part of the hockey club qualify them for their office?
Can you pick your FOP REPS out of a line-up?
How much are our FOP officers compensated and why???
Why are 2 Sgt's on our board of directors and supported by Mark Donahue?
How many Lawsuits are pending, or have been settled by FOP and for how much money?
Why is it OK to expel members of FOP because they ran against you in the last election?
Why is it OK to expel retired members who have forgotten to pay their dues?
Why, Why, Why? Seems to be the big question.

Post responses and your ideas, if they are good articles I will cut and paste them as topics. Please no running diatribes. Clear concise and to the point would be appreciated and posted

We apologize! For the Turn-Coats!

turn coat: one who specifically switches to an opposing side or party; specifically traitor

found on merriam webster dictionary online.
Below are listed persons who ran with the I.O.U. team in the last election and have been corrupted by the F.O.P.. These are Men you work in a car with! Men who proffessed to us the I.O.U. team ideas for change. Men who talked to "you" the membership about change! It didn't take long for them to go to the dark side. They are currently endorsed by the F.O.P. for office! Watch your backs! A mans integrity and honesty is all we have! These men have shown what they are capable of. They have aligned themselves with the cuurent administration of the F.O.P..
By the way, they also stand on a various # of committees getting paid by our union dues for doing so. In addition to the $400.00 a month they get for representing you!
REMEMBER WHEN YOU VOTE!
WHEN YOU GET IN A CAR REMEMBER THIS!

F.O.P. Election March 2008

At the general meeting on Tue 18-Dec-2007 nominations for F.O.P. office were pulled. Of course our incumbent "City Wide Team" pulled petitions, but there are quite a few new faces. We will be learning more about the new and old members shortly. All the nominations are due by the end of closing business 28-Dec-2007 1600 hrs.
Is their a contender to face Mark Donahue? Are their viable alternatives to "The City Wide Team"?
I believe there are!
CHANGE IS A GOOD THING! Look to our Mayor and his choice for a new Supt. of Police.
An outsider, someone who has NOT been corrupted by the same old business as usual should be good.
The same goes for the F.O.P.! It is time for NEW LEADERSHIP, AND A NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS!
Officers it is serious decision time! Time for us to stand up to the powers that be and vote out the "City Wide Team"! When you receive a ballot in March, look at those F.O.P. book covers and vote for anyone NOT LISTED ON THEM!!!
Patrol Division is the Backbone of this Dept. Vote for a New Leader! A Patrolman!
